Pediatricians
A common questions among people in mom’s groups, friends, and neighbors is where to find a good doctor.
I will give you the synopsis from my own research and from the input of others.
I have not received any endorsement, money or other incentives for my feedback on these doctors.
Jollyville Pediatrics
We go to this office. At the risk of growing this office, I cannot speak highly enough of the staff in this office. I must say, I like the small office feel. So, if you are looking for an office that is open all the time and has a lot of doctors to help you out, this is not the place for you. But, I love this office. They have been so helpful and it is obvious to me that they are in this field because they love helping children. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and I discovered by accident, their rates are probably the cheapest in town! The only thing I would change, is that the waiting area does not have a separate sick and well child area, but in all of my experience, the children do not follow the guidelines anyway.
Cedar Park Pediatrics & Family Medicine

We like most of the doctors here. Personally, I have been impressed with Dr. Cardwell, but we actually left the office before she arrived. I have been impressed by her willingness to get involved in the community and her open efforts to answer questions, whether or not you are a patient. Unfortunately, we left because I was very disappointed by Dr. Mathew. She did not do anything overtly wrong, but when I took my daughter, Dr. Mathew seemed to be uncomfortable and unaware of the way to treat a very young child. From others in the community, I have heard decent reviews about the office overall, but most everyone seems to agree that the office is nothing terribly special.
Hill Country Pediatrics
I heard so many rave reviews about this location that we became patients there. We lasted one visit. We were not impressed with the set up which set a bad tone. We were taken into a room where we undressed the children and then walked down the hall where we waited in line to weigh and measure the children. The office is large and we felt like we were not very special. We were not impressed by the doctors. They did have a lot of resources available and they did have nice waiting areas. I will never return there, though.
Austin Regional Clinic
This one also gets mixed reviews. Some doctors in the clinic are great. We toured and interviewed one of the locations. (The Cedar Park office will not do interviews – which eliminated them from my list.) They do have a lot of great services, like after hours clinics, because children never get sick during business hours. However, the assembly line feel of the clinic did not make me feel great. The doctors I interviewed did not wow me, either. Some people really like the office, but I am not in that camp.
Treehouse Pediatrics
I do not have any experience with this office, but I have to list them because I have recently heard so many rave reviews about this office. Eventually, I will make it there to check them out, but for now, all I can tell you about this office is that others like them.
Dr. Joseph Cohen
Given the most recent information I have received, I feel bad about this review. I have heard that Dr. Cohen has become ill and is no longer able to see patients. However, he has received the largest number of bad reviews of any pediatrician. I do personally know of two people who love him, but I have also spoken with a large number of people who do not like his office. I have been in the office and was not impressed, but who am I to judge, right?
Best of luck in your search for a doctor and I would love to receive your feed back, too!
